$1 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) |
The Department of General Dentistry recently received a $1 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) The 3-year grant will assist in the expansion and improvement of the department's Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program, one of the School's two residency programs for general dentists. The AEGD program provides advanced training in the dental specialties in an effort to expand the type and depth of treatment practiced by the program's graduates. Comprehensive patient care, teaching skills, and critical thinking are the top priorities of the program.
In 2001, the department received a similar 3-year grant from the HRSA for just over $650,000 that enabled the expansion of the General Practice residency.
